Toronto-based label We Are Busy Bodies has announced the next installment in its celebrated King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard Bootlegger Series, now continuing under its Having Fun Records imprint.  The series, made possible through King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard’s fervent documentation of their live performances, includes songs taken from their June 2025 performances recorded in Athens, Greece. The album will be available in stores on November 21, 2025.

Since the band launched their Bootlegger Series, We Are Busy Bodies has embraced the opportunity to push vinyl formats into wild, uncharted territory. Past releases have included:

  • An LP with a hidden 7” embedded in the gatefold sleeve
  • A record that played entirely in reverse (from the inner groove)
  • A cylinder record, produced as part of the label’s larger Cylinder Project
  • A buzzsaw-shaped record (inspired by Canadian band Acrid)
  • A sparkle vinyl LP packaged with an 80-piece puzzle
  • A glow-in-the-dark live album

This fall, the label’s Having Fun imprint introduces perhaps their most technically daring creation yet:

  • Side A plays songs from both the outer groove (standard) or inner groove (reverse) at 33RPM.
  • Side B plays straight at 45RPM, a stripped-down contrast to the experimental A-side.

Label founder Eric Warner explains:

“I keep saying we’ve pushed this series as far as we could, but this one felt like uncharted territory. I haven’t seen this being done before. It took us a while to figure out, and we’re very appreciative of the band for creating opportunities like these to push the envelope.”

The album’s artwork is a tongue-in-cheek explanation of the album format, which mirrors its playful experimentation. A demonstration video will be shared in the coming weeks.

With each release, We Are Busy Bodies and Having Fun Records continue to redefine what’s possible in vinyl production, cementing their reputation as one of the most creative forces in independent music today.
