Born out of distance, chance, and a deep creative pull, Sawdust in the Transmission is the debut album from Fuses — a transatlantic collaboration between Sweden’s Moa-Linn Rosenlöf (Orkan, Spela Död) and Canadian guitarist Craig Fahner (Motorists). What began as a fleeting meeting in Gothenburg in 2024 quickly evolved into daily correspondence, and ultimately, a body of work shaped across oceans.
Ahead of the album’s release on 26th June, Fuses unveil the new single “Aniline”, released alongside an official music video on 19th May. Watch the video for it here.
“I grew up in Alberta, where the oil business kind of touches everything,” explains Fahner. “I remember hearing news stories when I was growing up about acts of sabotage on pipelines and gas wells. This song kind of assembles those memories into a story of an inverse Prometheus who lights a fire whose damage can’t be undone.”
The track also reflects the collaborative chemistry that defines the project. “This is another one that I had kicking around for a couple years but didn’t quite feel complete until Moa-Linn added her harmony to it,” Fahner continues. “I also love her drumming on the track, like a train cutting across a frozen prairie.”
